To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.Specialist Pharmacist Homeless HealthAFC Band 737 Hours/weekOutreach across Edinburgh city / The Access Place, EdinburghA once in a lifetime opportunity to play a key role in Scotlands (and Pharmacys) first definitive randomised controlled trial of Pharmacist third sector homeless worker outreach intervention for people experiencing homelessness, and street drug use with previous criminal justice encounters. You will be an independent prescriber, with street sense, empathy, and have the ablity to work as part of Edinburgh Citys Access Place and with Streetwork (Edinburghs main outreach service for people experiencing homelessness). You will have strong motivation to tackle health and social inequalities in a holistic way, on outreach in Edinburgh streets, temporary accommodation and third sector drop in centres. You will be confident in prescribing for people with multimorbidities including problem poly substance use, in collaboration with GPs, and the wider Pharmacy team in Edinburgh HSCP. Training in the main therapeutic areas involved in homelessness and inclusion health populations, will be provided. You will also become an integral part of a multicentre research team (NHS Tayside, Ayrshire and Arran, Grampian) and contribute to research outputs e.g. publication of findings, and have an opportunity to present findings at diverse fora. You will have an opportunity to deliver teaching and learning events to a wide selection of health and social care professionals, linked to the University of Edinburgh Centre for Homelessness and Inclusion Health. Line management will be through the Lead Pharmacist South East Edinburgh (Barry Chapman).
