Job Description
Network Engineer - 2nd Line - Remote / Home based role. Very occasional travel to an office in Leeds and the odd client across the North so prefer Northern based but anywhere across Yorkshire / Lancashire / Merseyside / Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire / Lincolnshire / Durham.
The Opportunity:
The role is working with a leading MSP who have a number of clients across the North of England. You'll be a home based Engineer providing remote Network Support focused around Cisco Routing and Switching, Cisco Security (ASA), Fortinet and Palo Alton kit at a 2nd Line Level.
The role:
You'll report in to the Network Operations Manager and will be solving 2nd Line tickets across a broad range of clients troubleshooting incidents and dealing with service requests. As a Network Engineer / Network Support Analyst you'll own requests, escalating issues to the 3rd Line team if necessary. You'll proactively manage customer relationships and prioritise tickets in a methodical way.
You:
You'll be a confident & clear communicator who likes providing a high quality service to clients as a network engineer. On a technical level you'll have skills and experience in some of the following:
- Cisco Networks, Routing & Switching
- Firewall knowledge including Cisco ASA
- Cisco Firepower IPS and web filtering
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- Fortinet / Fortigate
- Cisco ISE
- Wireless / Security
- Meraki
- Telephony
The role is primarily home based with occasional travel to the office in Leeds and very occasional travel to sites. Salary is up to £40k with circa £5-10k in overtime and on-call on top. CCNA / CCNP / NSE qualifications a bonus but not a pre-requisite.
