Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Are you an experienced Senior 3D / CAD Creative Designer with a passion for crafting unforgettable events? 

 

This is a fast paced and exciting role providing the opportunity for occasional national and international travel working alongside a fun and experienced team. You will be designing for hybrid, conferencing & expo events and take designs from the conceptual phase right through to their finished structure. 

 

As a 3D / CAD Creative Lead, your primary responsibility is to create accurate and detailed 3D models and technical drawings using 3D software tools. You will collaborate closely with build partners, architects, designers and other stakeholders to translate concepts, ideas and specifications into 3D designs and technical drawings that meet project requirements and industry standards.

 

You’ll drive innovation, creativity and be a brand guardian all the while maintaining and building working relationships with clients to live up to the fantastic reputation OrangeDoor has for great customer service. This role will require the individual to travel and manage projects onsite globally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Design Development: Create 3D models and 3D/CAD drawings based on project requirements, sketches, specifications, floorplans, walk through animations / videos for presentation purposes visuals and technical guidelines. Develop design concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings to communicate design intent effectively. Have excellent structural understanding.
  • Technical drawings: Design and develop CAD / Vector works models and technical drawings for build elements using 3D software. Ensure designs meet functional requirements, performance specifications, and aesthetic standards.
  • Manufacturing oversite/Support: Collaborate with build partners and technical teams to integrate design features, components, and systems into overall project designs. Address build constraints, feasibility, design optimization considerations and health & safety requirements.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including build and production partners, project managers, and clients, to ensure alignment of design deliverables with project timelines, budgets, and objectives. Participate in design reviews, meetings, and presentations as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and reviews of 3D models and 3D/ CAD drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards, regulations, and specifications. Identify and resolve design issues, errors, or discrepancies promptly.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design files, technical drawings, specifications, version control, filing and project records. Generate progress updates, and design documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in 3D/CAD software tools such as Vector works, Cinema 4D etc and Indesign & photoshop. Stay updated on the latest software features, techniques, and best practices for 3D modelling and CAD design.
  • Attendance onsite to events to ensure smooth and effective build hand over pre-event and on build days.
  • Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in 3D modelling, CAD design, and related fields. Seek opportunities for professional development, training, and skill enhancement to improve effectiveness in the role and department.
  • Possess an awareness of cost and design to budget.
  • Ensure that Timesheets are completed weekly.
  •  Provide support on pitches, conceptual presentations.
  • Adhere to client brand guidelines and implement them in design work.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and contribute to sustainability initiatives.
  • Build and print processes and up to date design trends.
  • Compliance for print and digital licensing assets
  • Ability to produce Vectors works, Cinema 4D and Indesign assets.
  • Running and owning client meetings, calls and internal work 


SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree in Product Design / Architecture / Industrial design/ Interior Design
  • Fully literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Fully literate in both PC and Mac applications including Vector works, Cinema 4D, InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat
  • Relevant experience of high-quality event / exhibition design
  • Evidence of creation of experiential ideas, concepts and designs
  • An in-depth technical understanding of exhibition stand building techniques.
  • Strong team working skills, highly collaborative.
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Tenacity and resilience to make concepts a reality.
  • Positive/can do attitude

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full driving licence (desirable but not essential)
  • Full passport (occasional travel will be required)
