3rd Line Network Engineer - IT Services - Swindon (hybrid working)

Our client, a well-establish and reputable managed service provider is seeking a motivated and technically driven 3rd Line Network Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. They provide a wealth of different technical services, predominately to government and defence clients. Role overview:
Working within their agile Service Operations team, you'll be responsible for actively managing and troubleshooting a broad range of technologies in an enterprise environment. You'll also act as an escalation point and mentor for the wider support team, so you'll need to possess a self-starter attitude with the ability to manage a varied and ever changing workload.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical lead and provide a point of escalation for day to day activities
- Support and troubleshoot a wide range of technologies across the whole stack (server OS Windows/Linux, networks, storage etc.)
- Provide resolution of escalated issues in line with SLAs
- Review and coordinate customer facing reports
- Assist in the deployment of both standard and complex changes to customers infrastructure
- Provide input and investigation for improvements/efficiencies
- Be a part of the transition of new products and services
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within the IT services/managed services industry will be highly favoured
- Experience providing infrastructure support across the full technology stack
- Technical experience/exposure required: LAN/WAN Technologies (switching, routing, load balancing), VPN and encryption technologies, secure managed WLAN (Aruba, Meraki etc.), Server OS support (Windows and/or Linux), knowledge of monitoring tools.
Offering up to £45,000 PA plus numerous other benefits including generous holiday plus bank, discretionary bonuses, private health benefits and excellent training/further learning opportunities.
Working hours: Monday - Friday, they operate between 07:00 - 19:00 with shifts between 07:00 - 15:30, 09:00 - 17:30, 10:30 - 19:00, which is agreed by mutual arrangement to ensure adequate cover. There is also the requirement to be on call 1 week in circa 5 weeks.
