Job Description

Our company is at the forefront of mobile and video technology, driving innovation in devices, networks, and services globally. We tackle the industry's toughest technical hurdles, pioneering solutions for more efficient broadband networks, improved video delivery, and enhanced multimedia experiences, often years ahead of market deployment. With licenses and strategic partnerships with major technology firms worldwide, we are shaping the future of wireless communication.

Role Overview:

Join our Wireless Research group within the Research and Innovation (R&I) organization, spearheading next-generation wireless research projects in North America. We're on the cutting edge of 6G research, tasked with anticipating future technology needs, prototyping concepts, and innovating around system integration. We're seeking a dynamic wireless engineer to contribute to our technology research and development efforts, focusing on designing, modelling, and simulating 6G technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in developing 3GPP system and link-level simulations using MATLAB, and a keen ability to analyse performance and feasibility of new concepts. This role involves close collaboration across teams, internal presentations, and external contributions to advance wireless technology. Key areas of expertise include MIMO, Beamforming, Channel modelling, Waveform design, Modulation and Coding, and leveraging AI/ML for wireless applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in physical layer, MAC layer, and air-interface design for next-generation mobile communication systems.
  • Analyse and evaluate cellular systems, develop wireless protocols and algorithms using theoretical analysis and simulations for beyond 5G / 6G.
  • Perform theoretical analysis of channel models, create and implement channel models for various environments, and analyse simulation results.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and papers, and publish findings in leading scientific conferences and journals.
  • Drive technology generation, support patent applications, and assist in developing 3GPP standards contributions.
  • Engage in pre-standards efforts, and support university and industry collaborations.

Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
  • 10+ years of work experience post-Ph.D. in wireless communications.
  • Proficiency in link-level and/or system-level simulations using MATLAB.
  • Strong background in 3GPP and cellular systems, wireless protocol development, and fundamentals.
  • Research experience in Beyond 5G or 6G with a track record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Result-oriented professional with a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical, research, and innovation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
