Job Description

As an AC HVAC Engineer at Mitie, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. You will ensure that our clients' environments are comfortable, safe, and energy-efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Installation: Oversee and perform the installation of HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heaters, ventilation ducts, and control systems.
Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks, clean and replace filters, check refrigerant levels, and inspect electrical components to ensure optimal system performance.
Repairs: Diagnose and repair issues in HVAC systems, replacing or fixing defective components such as compressors, motors, and thermostats.
System Design: Assist in designing HVAC systems for various building types, ensuring compliance with regulations and client requirements.
Energy Efficiency: Evaluate and recommend improvements for energy efficiency, implementing measures to save energy and reduce costs.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve problems in HVAC systems using diagnostic tools and expertise.
Customer Service: Interact with clients to understand their needs, provide solutions, and offer advice on system upgrades and maintenance schedules.
Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and electrical codes.

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Knowledge: Extensive understanding of HVAC systems, components, and principles.
Certification: Relevant certifications such as NVQ Level 2 or above in HVAC or equivalent. Additional certifications like NATE (North American Technician Excellence) are advantageous.
Experience: Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems.
Licensing: Valid driving licence preferred.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Attention to Detail: Precision in installation and repairs to ensure system efficiency and safety.
Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical tasks and work in various environments, including tight spaces and high places.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
