The Role:

As the Account Manager/Senior Account Manager, you will take a bigger role in strategy and thought leadership, mentoring your teams, managing direct reports, and conducting annual reviews. You’ll have the opportunity to be the day-to-day lead on smaller accounts, managing internal delegation while also stepping into account strategy with a Director’s help. You’ll own the process for creating year-long strategies for our clients and will also be learning how to anticipate the client’s needs before they ask. You’ll attend Group Press Trips, participate in pitches for new business, and focus more on KPIs and bigger placements and stories.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Account + Client Management: Manage day-to-day client activities, including communication, research, planning, implementation, and evaluation of public relations activities.
  2. Media Relations: Master creating buzz-worthy collaborations or spinning basic info into a bigger story.
  3. New Business: Participate in J/PR new business pitching.
  4. Team Leadership: Manage direct report(s), providing leadership, guidance, feedback, and coaching.
  5. J/PR / Industry: Weave your industry involvement into the agency's collective knowledge base.
  6. Other: Perform other tasks, projects, or duties as required.

Experience:

- University Degree or comparable experience required
- At least 5 years of public relations experience in the hospitality, culinary, travel, tourism, and restaurant arenas
- Must have stellar client and media references
- Must have strong and proven relationships with local, regional, and national media contacts

Requirements:

  1. Ability to travel for client needs
  2. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, PowerPoint & Adobe Suite
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills, experience in a hospitality environment is a plus
  5. Excellent time management and organizational skills
  6. Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  7. Strong knowledge of media and news cycles
  8. Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
  9. Strong understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  10. Foundational understanding of Influencer engagement
  11. Polished and professional demeanor
  12. Self-motivated with a positive nature
