We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen for a Management Accountant to join our growing Finance Team here at Holman UK. You will need to travel into our Chippenham offices, for 5 days a week for up to the first couple months, after this you will be working hybrid, where you will have the option to work from home on a Monday and Friday. This is a permanent opportunity, and we are looking to pay up to £40,000.00 per annum depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

The role will be expected to undertake day-to-day oversight and management related to the accounting activity within Holman UK, with responsibility for the following activities:
  • Review monthly OPEX against budget/reforecast and investigate and explain variances
  • Maintain nominal ledger; ensure designated control accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis; manage designated accruals and prepayment accounts and processes and post monthly journals
  • Calculate customer rebates, liaise with business and suppliers to ensure rebates are accrued at an appropriate level
  • Create routine reports and provide variance analysis and commentary on areas of focus where necessary
  • Review overheads nominal coding and approve POs
  • Develop and prepare financial reports, models and analysis to aid the business in making well-informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and profitability
  • Provide support to external and internal auditors as required
  • Support the Finance Director and Finance Manager in the presentation and preparation of Financial Statements and Management Accounts packs
  • Assist in preparation of Annual Budget and Quarterly Reforecasts
  • Proactively identify system and process improvements and opportunities to add value to the business and work to implement change as necessary
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports and analysis as required by the business
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
We are looking for candidates who are:
  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA Part qualified or Newly qualified
  • Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel to an intermediate/advanced level
  • Adept in the use of a PC, internet and email and able to grasp new software applications easily and quickly
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Have strong reporting and financial accounting experience
  • Experience of accounting for Finance Leases desirable but not essential
  • A proactive and dynamic attitude to problem solving, with ability to use initiative and common sense
  • Ability to multi task with consistency and accuracy and able to priories and re-plan in a methodical manner. Can set objectives and plan how to achieve them
  • Able to assimilate, collate and record information, demonstrating a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be highly numerate and literate with the ability to rapidly understand statistical information, business reports, quotations and proposals
  • An approachable communication style with the ability to adapt style to accommodate customers, colleagues, suppliers and other contacts
  • Able to share and explain the results of analysis in a meaningful way to both Finance and non-Finance personnel
  • Excellent questioning and listening skills with an ability to assimilate accurate information
  • Able to instantly build and maintain rapport with a range of people
  • Articulate with a high standard of all round communication skills
