We are an active acquirer of DFMs and IFA's in the UK, following an aggressive growth trajectory, having trebled in size from the initial acquisition of "GPP" under two years ago. Our strategy sees strong organic growth within the near term coupled with significantly larger acquisitions. We currently manage ten entities attracting taxation, mostly UK-orientated with exposure to Jersey and South Africa.

The role

AP Assistant will report into the Accounts Payable Lead and will be responsible for managing the accounts payable/receivable process.

Job responsibilities

    • Communicating with relevant suppliers to process invoicing or payment queries
    • Attaching the correct documentation to invoices and reconciling purchase orders to invoices received
    • Posting invoices and credit notes and ensuring they're coded correctly in the system
    • Preparing monthly supplier statement reconciliations
    • Preparing and processing supplier payments and ensuring that appropriate approval has taken place
    • Recording and reconciling all bank movements
    • Banking administration as required
    • Raising sales invoices and receipts to clients/customers for money received
    • Processing and payment of staff expenses/credit card expenses
    • Ensuring that all accounts payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures
    • Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items
    • Preparation of audit requests & creditor/debtor balance sheet review.
    • Assisting the financial reporting team with month-end duties/adhoc projects
    • Liaising and coordinating with the external auditors
    • Adopt a continuous improvement approach and work with stakeholders to develop streamlined, high quality and efficient processes
    • To carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required.
    • Adhere to Consumer Duty.
Education and requirements
    • Some previous experience in AP/AR will be preferential
    • Some experience in a professional environment
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; NetSuite experience advantageous
    • High attention to detail is vital as is good numerical skills, accuracy and analytical skills
    • Strong self-management and motivational skills to learn and deliver on key responsibilities
    • Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively across different teams
    • Good communication skills, ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner
    • Willingness to learn and develop as the company grows
