Accounts Payable Supervisor 18 Month FTC

The Finance department at LexisNexis Risk Solutions is made up of a global team located around the world though primarily in Sutton, UK and Manila, Philippines. They're focused on providing high quality, insightful and efficient support to the business both in its day-to-day operations and executing the long-term strategies. This UK Accounts Payable Supervisor role is a hybrid position within Global Transaction Services ('GTS'); principally working from home with an expectation to visit the UK Sutton office as required. If you are an experienced AP lead, with excellent communication skills who is both organised and comfortable working in a hybrid environment this would be a fantastic opportunity to join this global, diverse team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the activities of the Accounts Payable function including the reconciliation of Accounts Payable ledger and supplier accounts in a timely manner in line with existing controls
  • Reviews and reconciles payment runs to detect errors and/or fraudulent activity
  • Act as support/point of escalation for offshore AP team and business areas
  • Proactively participate/help lead team meetings
  • Supervise Month-end/Year-end closing process
  • Analyses information to solve on-going problems
  • Responds to vendor and departmental enquiries promptly
  • Review of source documents for record retention
  • Responsible for oversight of corporate card process
  • Prepares financial reports upon request
  • Aligns to the core values of LNRS

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous Accounts Payable experience, preferably as a team lead or supervisor
  • Strong Interpersonal/Communication skills: Thoughtfulness and diplomacy to communicate ideas in a concise and logical way. Shares information, keeps the team informed, avoids surprises, responds promptly to queries.
  • Ability to understand comprehensive processes, procedures, and systems within own and related business areas
  • Uses knowledge of how the team integrates with other teams to coordinate efforts and resources to achieve shared and individual objectives
  • Ability to assist in implementation of new policies/procedures
  • Leadership skills: To provides day-to-day supervision to a team including coaching on performance, coordinating activities, checking on quality and work progress
  • Problem solving/Decision Making skills: Uses experience to identify and solve day-to-day problems, prioritises, and effectively completes daily tasks. Impacts the overall quality and quantity of the tasks performed by the team
  • Oracle knowledge a great advantage
