We are searching for a motivated and technically excellent Accounts Semi Senior to support the company at a period of sustained growth.

The role will suit an ambitious individual who has worked within an accountancy practice for at least 2 years, is studying towards your CTA/ACA/ACCA and has experience preparing statutory accounts, Corporation Tax and VAT returns.

The office is easily accessible being located just a few minutes off the M5 and the role comes with a number of benefits.

Main Responsibilities

Delivering a high quality service to our clients on a wide range of accounting and taxation matters. More specifically, the responsibilities will include:

  • Being responsible for your own portfolio of clients
  • Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited liability partnerships and limited companies
  • Preparing self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts
  • Preparing Corporation Tax returns for limited companies
  • Preparing VAT returns for individuals, partnerships and limited companies
  • Maintaining tax records for our clients and ensuring all accounts, tax returns and tax payments are submitted on time
  • Dealing with client and HMRC enquiries
  • Supporting the management team with any client advisory work

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required

  • Has at least 2 years' experience of working in a practice dealing with small businesses and is qualified to at least AAT Level 4 Diploma and/or ATT
  • Has an interest in forging a career in taxation
  • Experience in preparing accounts for limited companies and calculating tax liabilities
  • Has a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent IT skills
  • Has a high level of analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
  • Is highly organised with a pro-active and common-sense approach
  • Has integrity, discretion and understands the importance of confidentiality
  • Is able to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
  • Someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys interacting with a wide portfolio of clients

Hours

28 to 35 hours per week between Monday and Friday.
