Job Description

TPF Recruitment are recruiting for a fantastic, multi-sited firm of accountants who are looking for an Accounts & Tax Manager to join their team in North Kent. This accountancy practice boasts a fantastic work-life balance and offers an excellent family feel working environment.

You will work in a general practice capacity across accounts, tax, bookkeeping management accounts, VAT, and CIS. You will have the support of a small but experienced team and work in a client-facing capacity as the first point of call for client queries. Clients range from sole traders and partnerships through to limited companies of varying sizes, across a range of sectors. This opportunity is suited to both Managers who are looking to progress in their career with ambitions to become a Partner, as well as Managers who are looking for a long-term managerial position but perhaps not necessarily be interested in partnership.

Responsibilities

  1. Managing a client portfolio including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and individuals.
  2. Overseeing and managing all aspects of client's service delivery including preparation of year-end accounts, management accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, and CIS.
  3. Liaising with clients on accounts and tax issues as required.
  4. Acting as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them informed with progress and maintaining regular contact with them.
  5. Reviewing work completed by junior team members and resolving all issues prior to submission.
  6. Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  7. Developing, retaining, and motivating junior members of staff and assisting in the management of the overall day-to-day running of the practice.

Requirements

  1. ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent with at least 2-3 years of post-qualification experience.
  2. Proven experience of working in a practice environment.
  3. Experience in managing a client portfolio.
  4. A proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  5. Experience of using cloud-based accounting software packages, such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks.
  6. Experience of TaxCalc or a similar accountancy software desirable but not essential.

Benefits

£50,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable. Benefits including pension, parking, holiday allowance, bonus, etc.
