Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

GLBA/IBD/LBO arranges and underwrites debt financing for the leveraged buy-out of companies that are acquired by leading private equity funds that are clients of SG. The business operates in Western and Central & Eastern Europe and in the USA with 5 teams present in London, Paris, Frankfurt, and New York and a total staff approaching 50 persons. In most cases the deals are structured and underwritten by IBD LBO often alongside other leading banks and the debt is then syndicated to a range of investors operating in the leveraged debt markets. CMK LBO works closely with Leveraged Loan Syndicate and Sales, with High Yield Capital Markets and with IFD for interest and fx hedging solutions.

LBO DIR manages the business line globally whilst the LBO London team comprises typically 8-9 persons that are dedicated to covering the LBO business in the UK, Eire, Scandinavia, Luxembourg and the Netherlands and to the European MML business in a JV with GLBA/ABP.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

  1. Build and manage client relationships with target borrowers in the LBO sector.
  2. Identify and address clients’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital.
  3. Represent LBO in internal dialogues with colleagues to provide best-in-class advisory to the client base.
  4. Support internal credit process and risk analysis.

Summary of responsibilities

  1. Support the team’s efforts in originating debt financing and advisory mandates in the LBO sector.
  2. Develop and maintain a track record of winning mandates in addressing clients’ borrowing needs.
  3. Execute mandates effectively and responsibly while ensuring compliance practices are observed.
  4. Support the development of the product offering in line with LBO’s strategy and priorities.
  5. Develop the LBO client base in line with GLBA’s and SG Group’s strategy and priorities.

Technical:

  1. Understanding of capital markets and loan financing.
  2. Ability to generate consistent pitch material that is clear and compelling.
  3. Responsibility in understanding risks for IBD, GLBA, and SG Group.
