Job Description

We’re recruiting for aFinance Business Partnerto join the Retail Division on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. We’re offering you the opportunity to supportthe Retail Annuities Finance team in driving the profitability of the Retail Annuities business across the full range of financial metrics, all aspects of financial planning, financial management, financial control and supporting the business in making commercial decisions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the Head of Retail Annuities and the Senior Finance Business Partnerin understanding the key drivers of financial performance and working with the Retail Annuities business to leverage financial insights and promote appropriate management actions.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong cross functional working relationships with key stakeholders across Retail Annuities, L&G Retail and the wider Group and utilisingthe knowledge gained to support strategic/commercial decisions and assess the financial implications. You will also work closely with the LGRI Business Partnering team to ensure consistency of financial metrics between Retail Annuities and LGRI where appropriate.
  • Supporting the development of the financial plan for the Retail Annuity business across all financial metrics (including IFRS, New Business and In-force Value, Solvency II, cash, expenses, sales).
  • Supporting the Head of Retail Annuities and Senior Finance Business Partner in understanding the financial reporting for the Retail Annuity business across all financial metrics with a key focus on IFRS 17 and Solvency II.
  • Remaining abreast of regulations, accounting standards and Group requirements impacting Retail Annuities, including assessing financial impacts of changes and ensuring appropriate action is taken to manage financial outcomes.
  • Ensure all analysis, decisions made and activity undertaken in fulfilling of this role consider the fair treatment of our customers (TCF).

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • A Qualified Actuary, ideally with some post-qualification experience
  • An understanding of the drivers of IFRS and SII results as well as internal KPIs
  • An understanding of the Retail Annuities market, including products, distribution, operations and competitive environment.
  • An understanding of L&G’s financial processes/systems andorganisational structure and governance frameworks.
  • An understanding of L&G's risk management philosophy and how to support in delivery and monitoring of the risk control environment.
  • An understanding of L&G's monthly/quarterly/annual planning and forecasting cycle
  • A motivated self-starter who is continuously looking for opportunities to improve insight, make processes more effective and enhance value creation.
  • The ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A confident communicator with the ability to concisely convey messages in written or verbal format and to adapt communication style as appropriate for the audience.
  • The ability to manage and prioritise deliverables and facilitatethe transition of change into operational processes.
