We have an exciting new opportunity to be part of the Model Manufacturing team as Additive Manufacturing Leader – Full Size, based in our fantastic new campus, AMRTC.


The successful candidate will have multiple years’ experience in multiple additive manufacturing technologies in a high-level motorsport or aerospace environment. They will have a good attention to detail, work calmly and accurately under pressure, work positively and enthusiastically in a small team and have a flexible attitude to helping fulfil the requirements of the department and team as a whole.


Working day shift in the additive manufacturing team, this role will primarily be focused on ensuring the operation of the department is efficient, organised, and delivering on time to the full size, whilst always championing continuous improvement. Overseeing people management and compliance with policies and procedures is a crucial part of the role.


The Successful candidate must have the following attributes:

  • Deliver projects on time while maintaining quality across ADM department.
  • Understand the overall expectation of the manufacturing process requirements.
  • Ensure that all race car components have been manufactured to standard operating procedures.
  • Review and continuously improve ADM planning, processes, and strategies.
  • Responsible for people issues, i.e, annual leave, unauthorised absence, and performance issues.
  • Report major people issues to the Additive Manufacturing Manager.
  • Manage the shift rota for department staff.
  • Chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as required.
  • Contribute proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times and to continually build and lead the culture across the additive manufacturing area.
  • Work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure.
  • Maintain and develop skill levels to push industry standards and maintain current and thorough working knowledge of model manufacturing & development processes.
  • Hold industry leading knowledge in a specific additive manufacturing technology and hold competent knowledge in all other technologies, including the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Be confident in and able to develop post processing technology within the department.
  • Develop work area and practices in line with 5S lean manufacturing.
  • Define and implement new processes.
  • Managing resource and scheduling work to meet demanding manufacturing programmes.
  • Monitoring the quality and quantity of personnel and technology output, react to issues with training and or calibrations where appropriate.
  • Reviewing staff performance, helping guide the team with continuous improvement.
  • Define and implement new processes across the team.
  • Conduct R&D of potential technology applications.
  • Conduct R&D to overcome technology limitations.
  • Continuous interaction with the design group to ensure optimum design-for-manufacture at all times.
  • Daily progress chasing on all work streams.
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.
  • Ability to deal with technical challenges as they arise and know when to ask if unsure.
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.
