Job Description Brook Street are working in partnership with HMPPS North East Regional Office in their search an Administrator to join their busy team.Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm £11.44 per hourAssignment is until the end of March 2025 with a possible extensionJob description This is a regional job the centralised listing team is located in prison premises outside the secure perimeter alongside HMP Durham. The unit deals with listing of Prison to Court Video Links daily. This covers Cumbria Durham, Northumberland, Yorkshire and Humber areas. This is a dynamic environment requiring excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. The aim of this role is to reduce the number of unnecessary productions at court by maximising the use of Prison Court Video Link (PCVL) slots within prisons. The administration priorities are to get the most out of available capacity, reduce unnecessary physical movement of prisoners, and maximise operational efficiencies. The reduction in productions is due to the challenge process introduced by our Centralised Listing Team (CLT) who will challenge the need for a prisoner appearing at court. This is a non-operational job. Overview The job holder is expected to be competent in their area of work, any specific qualifications or training required will be detailed in the relevant job description. This is a non operational role which may involve contact with prisoners depending on their area of work. This role has no line management responsibilities. Responsibilities* Responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate people on probation and victim information on relevant approved databases.* Ensure the effective administration of referrals to and relationships between offender management, victims, interventions, service providers and external agencies and partnerships to enhance positive outcomes, manage risk, and reduce reoffending.* Prepare, maintain and collate case and other records, files and management information, in accordance with the standards required.* Receive and distribute information and communications in an appropriate manner, e.g. telephone, paper, e-mail.* Provide cover for an effective and efficient reception and telephone enquiry service.* Act as single point of contact within unit for specialist area of work as required.* Deal fairly, effectively and firmly with a range of people on probation, some of whom may be in crisis, distress or who may display inappropriate or aggressive behaviour, and to seek appropriate support in accordance with the circumstances and office procedures.* Make practical arrangements such as appointments, directions, etc., for the implementation of the Sentence Plan.* Carry out enforcement administration as required.* Where necessary, issue petty cash/vouchers/warrants for travel costs etc, maintaining appropriate records in line with local office financial procedures.* Organise the availability of appropriate equipment, materials, and facilities for activities relating to the management of cases.
