About the role

Key details:

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, (9am to 4.30pm on Mondays and 8.30am to 3.30pm Tuesday to Friday), 30 hours per week
  • Wage: £6.40 per hour
  • Location: The Ship, 228 Long Lane, London, SE1 4QB
  • Apprenticeship Standard: Level 3 Business Administration
  • Duration: 18 months

Overview of the role:

An exciting new role has developed in within our organisation. Working closely with the team to ensure all day to day operations run smoothly by completing all administrative tasks in a timely manner. Our Business Administration apprenticeship programmes offer all the vital experience required to become an administrative asset in any company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide office support to a busy administrative office.
  • Answering the phone and taking phone messages and passing them on to the relevant member of staff.
  • Interact with clients, staff, and suppliers etc. either on the phone or in person and to maintain a professional approach at all times
  • Greet visitors in a polite manner and direct them to the correct meeting rooms
  • Make tea / coffee for any Client meetings that take place
  • Support in the maintenance of well-organised files and records.
  • Assist with petty cash and expenses reconciliation
  • Assist with any travel arrangements / train / flights / hotel bookings
  • Preparing orders for office stationery and supplies
  • Photocopying any relevant documents.
  • Shredding, filing, and general office tidying.
  • Provide administrative support to project managers
  • Attending project meetings and taking minutes
  • Attending site meetings as required
  • Issuing agendas, minutes and other documentation to Clients
  • Assisting with the compilation of tender documentation and project documentation
  • Updating website and other Social Media platforms

Apprenticeship Summary:

  • You will work towards your Level 3 Business Administration qualification across a total duration of 18 months!

  • All online/remote learning, no classroom or college day release
  • An allocated tutor will support you throughout the apprenticeship!

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) essential
  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) essential

Apprenticeship Overview

The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.

  • Milestone 2. IT Skills - (Systems, Record and document production, Financial processes and Professionalism and productivity).
  • Milestone 3. Communication - (Verbal, Digital, Social Media, Stakeholder Management, Problem Solving, Integrity and Productivity)
  • Milestone 4. Continuous Improvement - (Processes, Coaching and Developing others, Decision Making, Quality and Responsibility).
  • Milestone 5. Project Management - (Project Lifecycle, business fundamentals: Finance, Change, PESTLE, leading a project).
  • Milestone 6. Preparation for End Point Assessment
