Advanced Manufacturing Engineers provide dedicated production line technical support in a fast-paced, customer focused production environment. Providing quick and effective solutions to daily production issues, AMEs provide reactive support for production process issues or RMA (Return Material Authorization) Investigations and contribute to longer-term process improvements to enhance productivity.
As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Being an expert in electro-mechanical assembly working on all aspects of electronic soldering processes to the exacting requirements of J-STD-001.
  • Guiding design engineers on PCB design fundamentals and understanding laminate specifications covering multi-layer flexi-rigid circuit boards.
  • Acting as a Certified IPC Trainer (IPC CIT) to manage the training activities of a large manual workforce.
  • Liaising with design engineering on best practice for new designs of printed circuit boards and steer the soldering special process team to be NADCAP ready.
  • Able to drive continue-improvement projects, using tools such as FMEA's, 5Y's etc.
  • Adopting best-practice guidelines and influencing and implementing continuous improvement for processes and systems.

Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have sound knowledge of IPC Standards and an IPC CIT (Certified IPC Trainer).
  • Have proven experience of problem-solving techniques and ideally experience using Six Sigma or Shainin tools.
  • Have a HNC/HND or equivalent experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering discipline.
  • Have an understanding of complex Electromechanical Assembly in a very technical production environment.
  • Have hands-on capability with good knowledge of manufacturing and calibration processes. Provide electro-mechanical support to technology & manufacturing.
  • Have knowledge of Design for Manufacturability, Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality System, and SPC tools.
  • Experience leading and being a contributing member of large cross functional teams.
