Job Description

East of Scotland Growers Ltd are a farmer owned cooperative specialising in vegetable production. The head offices are in Cupar (Fife), with farms spanning through the Scottish Borders, Lothians, Fife, Angus and Perthshire. Our major focus is brassica crops, being a key UK producer of broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, and swede. In addition, we also produce tenderstem, cabbages, spring greens, kale, leeks, onions and asparagus. Experience in brassicas would be advantageous, along with an interest/experience in root crops as our carrot production takes on planned expansion.

Due to sustained growth and an internal promotion we are recruiting for a key member of staff to join the agricultural team. To us the person is very much the key factor and we are open to discussing with everyone from fully qualified agronomists, trainees and everyone else in between. Agronomy is the key function of the agricultural team, but the role spans significantly further bringing challenges and variations along the way. Harvest management, production planning and customer communications are all integral to the team.


Day-to-day



  • Management of circa 7,000 acre brassicas
  • Involvement in all aspects of crop production
  • Production planning
  • Communication through multiple channels
  • Driving our extensive R&D and technology programme
  • Contributing to industry discussion and developments

What you will have



  • Full UK driving licence
  • Honest work ethic

  • Good communication skills and the ability to maintain strong relationships
  • A want to be a key member of staff with the ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • BASIS/FACTS preferable but not essentia
  • Experience in fresh produce also preferable but not essential
