Location: Filton

Pay: £41.43 per hour via umbrella

Contract: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week, 12 months contract

IR35 Status: Inside

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit an Aircraft Test Rig Control Systems & Data Acquisition Engineer on an initial 12-month contract. As an Aircraft Test Rig Control Systems & Data Acquisition Engineer, you will be working within the Structures Test Team based in the Aerospace Integrated Research and Test Centre and be responsible for testing the structural technologies for the Wing of Tomorrow programme, Hydrogen Powered Aircraft and for support of all current aircraft programmes.

Responsibilities

  1. Delivery of technical specialisms in industrial control systems (MOOG Aerospace test software, MTS Aeropro preferable) and/or test data acquisition (HBK, Catman preferable); a healthy mix of hands-on lab and office-based work.
  2. Understanding of hydraulics - specifically servo-hydraulic control.
  3. Assistance when required to deliver structural tests.
  4. Communication and reporting of progress to the test leader/test customers.
  5. Coordination of all internal and external contributors/stakeholders/suppliers.
  6. Anticipation, identification and management of risks & opportunities.
  7. Participation in the test centre SQCDP and weekly team meetings.
  8. Support the development of training methodology and material.
  9. Risk assessment, Safe Systems of Work & Health / Safety Compliance.

Essential & Desirable Skills

  1. Educated (or equivalent proven experience) in control systems engineering or a related discipline (e.g. Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Physics).
  2. +5 years of experience in delivery of projects to time, cost, quality.
  3. One of the following disciplines: Instrumentation, control systems, data acquisition, hydraulic control.
  4. Pioneering spirit, open to new ideas/innovation.
  5. Good communication skills, multifunctional work and customer focused.
  6. Team worker.
  7. Proven ability to deliver.
  8. MS Office and G Suite.
  9. English: Negotiation level.
