Job Summary We're hiring a Animal Care Project Manager Are you passionate about leading green care projects that make a real difference in people's lives? We are looking for a dynamic and motivated project leader to join our innovative and supportive team. The successful candidate will lead and manage our Care Farm’s animal husbandry project, part of driving forward our mission to support individuals with learning disabilities and autism, and to develop our farming enterprise. This role requires someone with experience with farm livestock and a passion for the natural world and all it’s benefits to people. You will be a strategic thinker, with leadership ability, a strong focus on animal welfare, and a drive to make a positive social impact. Health Cash Plan We're looking for: Experience in farming/livestock keeping, preferably in a small, community based setting Knowledge of all compliance requirements of keeping livestock Driver, ideally with experience in towing/larger vehicles Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with a wide range of people Strong IT skills and ability to use a variety of programs Willingness to network and promote the Care Farm, and identify and develop new opportunities and initiatives, both in animal husbandry and for the people you will support A positive approach towards working with people with learning disabilities and an attitude towards others based on respect, dignity and equality. Your responsibilities: Ensure the health and welfare of all farm livestock, including recognizing and appropriately responding to ill health or injury Coordinate the staff team rota to ensure staffing is in place throughout the year, to include weekends and bank holidays Keep up to date with legislative changes and comply with notifications in order to effectively manage risks such as TB/avian flu Provide quantitative and qualitative reports as needed, such as a monthly report to the Care Farm Manager You will provide leadership and supervision to staff through coaching, supervision, appraisal, and performance management You will develop and maintain good relationships with other relevant parties, such as farmers, landowners, smallholders and vets Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping and hygiene across the farm site You will actively support your Manager and the Trust in the development and implementation of plans to achieve and sustain excellence within your service.
