Application Support EngineerLocation: London / HybridSalary: £50,000-£60,000Skills: Application Support, SQL, Linux, JIRA, Confluence, Agile, Git, AWS, PythonWe have been given a great opportunity with a financial services software provider that specialises in developing cutting-edge collateral and margin calculation tools who are currently seeking an Application Support Engineer to join their rapidly growing team. The position has come about due to further financial success with new products and growth of their customer base.The successful a Application Support Engineer will work directly with client supporting, investigating and troubleshooting issues that arise, ensuring a smooth process to achieve resolutions. You will work to provide technical support for the organisation’s products directly to their customer base. You will also work closely with the organisation’s engineering and product teams, becoming a part of a hardworking and dedicated Support function with a very entrepreneurial spirit.Specific duties of the Application Support Engineer will include: Supporting customers and resolving issues related to software functionalityWorking directly with customers to coordinate deployment and configuration of the company’s productsConducting comprehensive analysis of complex system flowsIdentifying solutions to open issues / problems that are under investigation or pending resolutionMaintaining internal technical documentation and improve support proceduresManaging distribution and installation of software enhancementsDocumenting and tracking case histories, issues and actionable steps taken In order to be considered for the role of the Application Support Engineer the following is important: Previous experience of deployment and troubleshooting electronic trading systemsGood knowledge of Linux & Windows operating systemsExperience with scripting in bash, perl or pythonUnderstanding of SQL DatabasesExperience working with JIRA, Confluence within an Agile frameworkKnowledge of cloud deployed solutions ideally into AWS (Cloudformation, EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM)
