Job Description:Location – Stevenage Six Hills WayStevenageHertfordshireROLE SUMMARYWe are for looking someone with broad knowledge but not specialist in App support and infrastructure.Applications, End User Support.Responsible for the efficient operation and support of applications within the Mechanical Design Department at MBDA UK.Specializing in, identifying, and solving problems and advising usersDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Support Engineer will:Provide extensive end user support for Mechanical Design application at MBDA (UK) for over 3000+ users.Be responsible for delivering support across 3 UK sites – Stevenage, Bolton, and Filton.Assist MBDA (UK) in the definition of best practice and processes associated with Mechanical Design applications.COMPETENCIES:Good knowledge of application/s supportDevelop effective resolutions for user problems and system errors.Adaptability to different personalities and levels of user knowledge.Confidently be able to present complex subjects to different target audiences.Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work autonomously.1st/2nd level operations experience with Application support team or service deskExperience of working to SLA'sProblem determination skillsSelf motivationOwnership and management - Able to work alone on tasks once trained.Problem triageKEY SKILLSWindows experienceOnsite availabilityWorking within a Support team environmentSecurity ClearanceMust be willing to apply for DV Sec clearance if not already held.SQL AwarenessAnalytical skillsLog analysis competencyWindow 2016 server knowledge and aboveWindow OS skills - StrongApp PackagesVM'sEnterprise services Experience – Active Directory/DFS/Certificate Services/Keystores/IIS Web Services/Apache TomcatSecurity PatchingRelease management and Change managementProblem ManagementRoot Cause Analysis skillsNice to Have But not Essential:Windchill administration / implementation.Ideally have spent significant time administering / configuring Windchill and completed Windchill 10.2 or 11.Implementation of Windchill 10.2 or above.Administration of 10.2 and above.Knowledge of deploying Creo Parametric/Office PDF workers.Awareness of Creo Parametric / Creoview.CREO IllustrateWindows 10 OS / Windows Server OS – 2012 onwards.Must have strong Windows OS administration knowledge.Should have some basic knowledge of the following:ESX VMWare.ESX infrastructure.ESX snapshots / restores.Enterprise servicesActive Directory.DFS.Certificate Services / certificate keystores.IIS Web services.Apache Tomcat.SQLSome knowledge of MS SQL Server databases.Knowledge of the use of SQL management studio.Knowledge of SQL command language in order to perform queries and updates within SQL database.
