Our client, based in Bedford, is a prominent leader in engineering solutions. Their commitment to excellence and cutting-edge technology makes them a preferred partner for many industry giants. 1st Choice is currently seeking a talented Applications Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will be pivotal in bridging the gap between the technical capabilities of our client's products/design team and the specific needs of their customers. Your role will involve tailoring solutions, providing technical support, and ensuring that the products deliver maximum value to customers.
Responsibilities:
* Work from customer enquiry and translate technical requirements into selection of units
* Prepare cost estimates for new assembly proposals
* Prepare quotations for presentation to customer
* Maintain department performance statistics and deliver to agreed targets.
* Coordinate between customer and design to manage the flow of information
* Collaborate with other departments as necessary
* Coordinate the submission of assembly drawings for customer approval and manage final submission of certified drawings
* Provide onsite support for all products worldwide.
* Provide technical support to sales team, distributors and customers.
* Create Instruction and Maintenance Manuals for products using Microsoft packages.
* To carry out project work at the request of the Applications Manager.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
* HNC in Mechanical Engineering - Essential
* HND in Mechanical Engineering - Desired
* Ability to work efficiently to deadlines
* Good attention to detail
* Flexible and hardworking
* Ability to prioritise
* Calm under pressure
* A team player, with an efficient and proactive approach.
