What does working client-side mean for you and your career?


You are employed directly by the owner/investor of the projects, operating as a part of an in-house architecture team. This provides a broader perspective and involvement in each project, with an ability to make and influence decisions that impact the design and overall success of high-value projects, working from inception through to completion. You will develop unique skills that are highly sought-after, not just in a studio environment, but by other client-side employers (once you move client-side exclusive doors will open for you).


We are seeking a proactive, intuitive, and highly accomplished individual with strong design and technical skills.


You will gain immediate exposure to an array of exceptionally high-end projects (£20-£120+ million construction values) in the UK and internationally. From prestigious UK estates to luxury overseas villas, prominent existing buildings to extravagant new builds, all paying homage to historic aesthetics. You will work on projects from inception to completion, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle.


Previous experience working on complex listed/existing building projects here in the UK is essential. Individuals with an interest in classical/traditional architecture are urged to apply.


To apply for this position, applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:


  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a UK-based studio (inclusive of Part I experience).
  • Proven experience working on high-value UK-based existing/listed building projects. High-end/luxury residential, heritage &/or conservation project experience will be considered.
  • Strong hand-drawing/sketching and creative design skills, complemented by an appreciation for specialist crafts (associated with complex existing buildings), demonstrated through a well-presented portfolio.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate sophisticated design ideas.
