Role Description Arts & Crafts VolunteerLocation: MaidstoneTime Commitment: 1-2 hours weekly/fortnightlyDo you love all kinds of arts & crafts? Then this is the perfect volunteer role for you.We are looking for someone who can lead a group session for the people we support at our service in Maidstone. The group sessions will include games, arts & crafts and other activities to help people with visual impairments and learning difficulties to be creative.You will inspire and motivate individuals to develop their arts & crafts skills, assisting them in the creation of their projects and supporting them to brainstorm and use their own initiative. Skills required To be kind, empathetic, friendly and creative To have a good sense of humour and love to chat To be punctual and reliable To be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures To be able to assist when necessary with sighted guide/orientation Please note that you will need to be over the age of 18 in order to apply for this role. To ensure the safety of the people we support, we require a DBS check and two satisfactory references before a volunteer role is confirmed. As you will be volunteering directly with vulnerable individuals, you will also be required to undertake safeguarding training, as well as any training which is specific to the role.
