In support of unprecedented growth, PwC's Consulting practice currently has a vacancy in its FS Enterprise Transformation team for a Director who will help lead the Asset Management & Asset Servicing sector team, in the field of Operating Model Design and Implementation resulting from a number of different types of change: core platform change, new product, merger/acquisition, start up, cost reduction, outsourcing, globalisation.
Enterprise Transformation (ET) is at the centre of designing and implementing multi competency changes at the heart of our clients’ organisations through designing and implementing the right enterprise operating model or supporting them on their most complex of change programmes.
As part of a specialist team, within the wider Financial Services cluster, you will be encouraged to initiate and develop new ideas. Our highly motivated team has an excellent track record of delivering high quality work to major international clients and has ambitious growth plans.
Our Clients / The Market
As a Director you are expected to manage your time between leading engagements, developing services to take to market, winning new business and developing senior client relationships in the Asset Management and Asset Servicing sector. We pride ourselves in bringing the very latest thinking to our clients and so you will also be expected to be a part of leading and developing our ET solutions, and growing your own ideas, within the Asset Management and Asset Servicing area.
Our client base covers a breadth of organisations spanning: Traditional and Alternative Fund Managers, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Fund Service Providers (Administrators, Transfer Agents, Depositaries), Prime Brokers and Custodians. These are primarily large multinational organisations who are leaders in their respective markets.

Supporting the CEO and COO of a global Asset Manager to achieve 20% cost reduction across their global operations
Review of current and design of future operating model to support the ambitions of the business strategy of a large pension fund manager
Scaling-for-growth review of the current state operating model and design of the future state of a large US-based asset manager
Design of an operating model for a new Fund Services business, bringing together a leading UK Depositary and Luxembourg-based ManCo business
Design of the operating model to support the launch of a new sovereign wealth fund targeted to replace fossil fuel incomes
Design and implementation of an operating model to support the pan-european legal entity structure of one of Italy’s biggest asset managers
Design of the operating model of a new Southeast Asian state investment fund targeted to provide capital for future infrastructure investment
Responsibilities
Client
Lead one or more entire engagements which involve designing and implementing enterprise operating models and delivering enterprise transformation change projects to a high standard.
Ensure the engagements are staffed appropriately, manage day to day issues and deliverables are of the very highest quality.
Build trusted relationships with the client engagement sponsors and stakeholders.
Leverage your market network of relationships with our key clients.
Identify client needs and lead proposals.
Be responsible for managing the financial aspects and achieving the core business KPIs of the engagement.
People
Be a people leader / role model / coach for our consultants and for our clients’ people.
Be mindful of your own, and support colleagues' well-being.
Build strong relationships within the UK firm and across member firms.
Firm
Lead one of our client service offerings within Enterprise Transformation focused on Asset Management.
Contribute to our continued thought leadership to ensure that appropriate solutions are developed for our clients.
Be responsible for ensuring quality and risk procedures are followed at all times before, during and after engagements.
Personal Development
Maintain an up-to-date skillset and a consistently high and leading-edge market profile attaining a professional qualification.
Maintain your knowledge of developments in the Asset Management industry.
Be a subject matter expert in at least 5 areas within asset management and asset servicing and be able to talk confidently across the whole value chain.
Requirements
Joining our team as a Director, we would expect you to have very strong experience of operating model design and large change projects preferably within a consulting environment or leading asset management focused business. You will have been able to demonstrate a track record of high-quality design and delivery success in the work you have undertaken to date and be able to articulate the business benefits of the work.
Excellent business knowledge within the whole Asset Management value chain - Front Office, Middle Office as well as Back Office.
Has experience as a solutions architect and is able to ‘own’ the new business architecture vision on behalf of stakeholders
Has experience designing future state asset management operating models resulting from a variety of change catalysts such as: core platform change, new product, merger/acquisition, start up, cost reduction, outsourcing, globalisation
Excellent track record in the field of the Asset Management value chain, from both internal and outsourced perspective.
Excellent track record of Target Operating Model Design and Implementation, including structured business analysis, functional decomposition, sourcing model, data model, organisational model as well as high level technical architecture.
Excellent track record of >10 years as a Programme/Project Manager for large complex asset management projects as well as Stakeholder Management.
Long term experience with three or more of State Street, BNY Mellon, NT and BNP Paribas Securities Services.
Very strong knowledge of the PMO function, for example, planning, status reporting, SteerCo reporting.
Preferred
It is likely that your work will be part of wider transformational programmes and hence experience in delivering other competencies (Digital Services, Cloud Transformation, Regulatory) is desirable.
Experience working in a program management role on a large transformation project in Asset Management such as outsourcing middle/back office to a third party.
Ideally you will have attained a professional qualification, for example, PRINCE2.
