Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join the finance team. The Accounts Assistant will primarily be responsible for assisting with various accounting and financial tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department.


This role is a truly exciting position for somebody in the early stages of their finance career who wants to progress. Study support and funding will also be provided for ambitious candidates.


Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

  • Process and record invoices, payments, and expenses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of payment runs and ensure timely payment of bills.


Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and issue invoices to clients/customers accurately and on time.
  • Follow up on overdue payments and communicate with clients/customers regarding outstanding balances.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies.


General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts.


Administrative Support:

  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (not essential).
  • Proven experience (1-2 years) in an accounting or finance role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
