Job Description
Our client is looking to add to their growing finance team. An opening for a progressive Assistant Accountant is available. You will be working in a team of 7; this role will suit a good communicator and someone who is confident in dealing with other departments. Hybrid working is available after 6 months.
The duties include:
- Analyse and perform audit checks on cash expenses for all sites.
- Record the account transactions on Sage, reconcile the accounts and verify the transactions with periodical onsite visits.
- Support the other members of the finance team by inputting sales and purchase information from source documentation.
- Assist in general reconciliation of Sage accounts.
- Ensure key month-end deadlines are met.
- Work closely with the other finance team to ensure the smooth operation of all finance matters.
- Assist FD in calculating/updating the integrated Cash Flow Forecast and any other financial models.
- Assist FD in preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts, including year-end accounts.
- Attend to queries from individual care homes relating to financial matters.
- Initiate and manage various ad-hoc tasks.
- Adhere to the company's financial policies and procedures.
- Attend company meetings, assisting with financial reporting to managers when required.
Finance Assistant Skills:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Well-organised with good time management skills to ensure tasks are completed within deadlines.
- IT literate including Microsoft Office & Sage Line 50.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Knowledge of Sage is preferable.
