Reporting to the Trading Manager for Stationery & Digital, you will assist in maximising the Revenue from the website & all channels for your product area. This role is varied and ranges from supporting in the daily operations of the website, working with our Marketing function to ensure your products are featured or launching a new product category online.
What you'll be doing:
Digital Trading. Ensure the website & channels best represent the biggest sales drivers and most seasonally relevant topics for your product area. This could mean ensuring a social post for a new product launch or making sure an offer is set up and findable in your area of the website. The ability to work cross functionally is desirable as you will need to take the best inputs from across the business (buying, business development, content, marketing) to create an optimal Digital trading plan.
Site Merchandising. Using Data & Analytics tools inc. Google Analytics & Content Square, continually optimise your web pages to ensure the best possible customer experience. Ensure best sellers are prominently featured across all channels and ensure a high degree of newness. Review hierarchy & navigation touchpoints on a regular basis and work with Content to ensure high % of new / fresh content to high traffic areas of the site.
Range Management. Feed online range requirements into the relevant internal buying teams to ensure the most compelling range available online. Manage within agreed online stock targets for your area of the business for £, units & space. Continually review efficiency with our warehouse in terms of size & space. Flag to Merchandising partners any fast / slow sellers to ensure effective stock management for the Direct business & we exit stock as efficiently as possible across the group. Work with dropshippers where appropriate.
Trading Manager Support. Provide financial information and administrative support to the TM i.e. ensuring all range docs are up to date or Running sales reports for product areas etc
Margin Management inc. Pricing & Promotion. Ensure product mix of sold product onsite achieves net margin targets overall for the online business by use of placement & promotional levers. Ensure we are maximising all High St promotional opportunities online and then flag any opportunities for online exclusive pricing or promotions when we benchmark against online competition.
Product Launching. Ensure all of the information is in place to enable other Teams i.e. Content / Operations so that the product set up allows the best customer experience possible.
Revenue Driving opportunities. Work with Buying or Commercial Development teams to enable the business to generate additional income i.e. supplier brand presence in marketing or on website.
What we are looking for:
• Commercial mindset. Always looking to maximise available revenue online for your product areas
• An analytical mind and ability to recognise trends - experience in using analytic tools like Google Analytics & Content Square would be beneficial.
• Enthusiasm and drive to deliver business targets & goals
• Good administration and IT skills - especially Excel or SQL
• E commerce experience would be beneficial
• Excellent communication skills required and the ability to work cross functionally highly desirable
