About the Role...
As an Assistant Management Accountant at EG On The Move, you will play a vital role in the Finance function - ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial information during an exciting phase of growth and transformation. There will be opportunities to liaise with key stakeholders within the business as you will be the first point of contact for the Operations teams, Senior Management Teams and the Board.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Assistant Management Accountant will support the production of management accounts, assist in statutory reporting, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. As Assistant Management Accountant, you will be confident in analysing and interpreting large volumes of data, as well being proactive to meet deadlines and managing workload.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Support the Management Accountant in producing detailed variance analysis and commentary to aid strategic decision-making.
- Participate in the preparation of statutory accounts and ensure compliance with relevant financial standards and regulations.
- Help manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Support the accounting for leases, including IFRS 16 compliance and lease agreement tracking.
- Assist in the audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules and liaising with external auditors.
- Play a proactive role in the ERP system transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of robust internal controls and financial procedures.
- Provide financial support and guidance to various departments within the organisation, fostering strong working relationships.
Candidate Requirements
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good understanding of financial systems and prior experience with ERP systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities
