Requirements

THE ROLE

We are seeking a client-facing building surveyor in our London building consultancy team. The position includes a relatively high level of responsibility and accountability with an opportunity to develop managerial as well as technical knowledge and skills, and to progress within a successful and growing team.

There will be a strong emphasis on core traditional building surveying duties for project work across multiple sectors, as well as a full range of professional work on a variety of client accounts across both residential and commercial property. You will be expected to be technically excellent and have a broad range of experience including Technical Due Diligence (TDD), Condition Surveys and Contract Administration / Project Management, Dilapidations and Party Wall Matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will largely focus on service delivery, working as part of the wider team and supporting to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients
  • To manage risk in service delivery and contribute to service delivery improvement initiatives
  • To demonstrate organic revenue growth and implementation of the business plan in terms of the building surveying offering
  • Assist with the development of new building consultancy opportunities
  • Contribute to the management of the client base to deliver financial goals
  • Working within the building surveying team to provide the core building surveying services with a bias towards contract administration of refurbishment work on all types of property

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Management of a team of surveyors and support resources or area of specific technical delivery, including pastoral care and technical development of junior staff
  • Prior experience in a multi-disciplinary firm
  • A broad thinker who can take a business wide view and has an inherent ability to deliver successfully
  • Ability to motivate team, drive quality and deliver successful outcomes
  • Manage quality standards to ensure high quality output
  • Innovative and self-motivated
  • Commercially aware and financially astute
  • Demonstrable record of exceptional delivery and track record in building consultancy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical and complex subjects clearly and concisely to clients
