  • Role: Associate Director (Creative Advertisment)
  • Reports To: London Managing Director
  • Location: London
  • Contract: Full Time (40 hours/ week)
Primary Responsibility:

Co-Authorship and accountability for delivering the commercial strategy for Creative Advertising Territory Studio (CATS) – optimising: P&L, process, product (calibre), team, sales, comms and culture.

  • Work with Head of CATS, Board and CFO to define and drive business plan – incl. KPIs
  • Manage and activate business plan
  • Ensure all targets are achieved
Business Development in collaboration with the Head of Creative Advertising:
  • Define, implement and drive Business Development / Sales strategy and pipeline
  • Set measurement of success, ie, targets / KPIs.
  • Accountable for company marketing channels
Client relations:
  • Ultimately accountable to clients – maintaining an understanding of client business and ensuring best practice for client service, i.e. if there are major issues in delivery or standard or with personnel you would be the point of contact.
  • Client relationship assessments – check-ins with key or regular clients on a 6 monthly or annual basis (or as appropriate) to ensure satisfaction
  • Directing and supporting client services functions where required.
Operations:
  • Process – spotting / proposing / implementing efficiencies, processes (incl. IT systems and policies) and workflows; POV on production efficiency, delivery & standards; insurance & legal; department-wide project status and resultant resource management planning
  • Coaching & working with the team on everything from building confidence in line management, developing client relationships, to finance and politics.
Finance:
  • Ultimately accountable resource utilisation / recoverability, spending decisions, financial sign off with TS London Finance Controller, forecasting, annual budgeting based on business plan, KPI setting, timesheet management, fee negotiations, client contracts & payment terms, supplier contracts & payment. Educating for department-wide commercial/business sense
  • Work with studio Financial Controller to compile all the information above to lessen quite how much ‘doing’ is involved.
  • Work with Financial Controller to collate and present department information where required.
Culture:
  • Help sustain a focused, productive and collaborative working environment
  • Department meetings / events / celebrations – making them happen, creating a CATS culture, creating the legend of what it is like to work within the CATS team.
  • Impromptu individual check-ins and coaching / walking the floor
  • Internal comms: joiners, leavers, new business, PR, announcements, vision, policy, dealing with issues, seeking agency feedback
Staff:
  • Ultimately responsible for contracts, recruitment, hiring, firing, HR policy, inductions, appraisals, pay reviews, pensions, benefits, legal, training, exit interviews and understanding churn, watching out for burn-out, etc
