JOB TITLE: Associate Director, Institutional Trade Sales, CIB

LOCATION: London

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About This Opportunity

Our Institutional Trade Sales team is a specialist product team providing our Institutional clients with working capital solutions across traditional trade, open account and structured trade. We support clients across the FI and NBFI sectors, aligned to our bold growth strategy.

We're seeking highly motivated Trade Sales Associate Director to originate new business within the Global Banks sector generating both growth alongside identifying new opportunities. With a particular focus on driving export letter of credit growth, supporting our corporate exporters, in line with our strategic ambition for the sector.

Working within a broader Global Banks sales team you'll have a directly allocated client portfolio alongside direct sales goals to meet our ambition of significantly growing the size of our business.

This role will form a key connectivity between IC Coverage, Trade Product and Trade Services, also working closely with the Corporate Trade & Working Capital sales team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Define the sales strategy and business plans for allocated portfolio and secure strategic internal support from partners to identify and satisfy customer needs in the most appropriate way.

  • At all times, meeting Group risk and profitability requirements to deliver targeted growth in the Trade and Working Capital business in terms of Income and Assets.

  • Actively maintain product relationships within the portfolio of existing and agreed target clients.

  • Identify customer needs to develop, structure and review proposals to meet customer requirements. Recognise opportunities to develop further income and economic profit, recommending and implementing appropriate solutions, driving export LC market share (volume and value) and diversifying the export portfolio.

  • Prepare and submit credit applications in conjunction with Coverage, aligned with defined strategy and engage with colleagues in Product, Delivery, Lending Execution and Risk as appropriate.

  • Main client contact for all transactions, expertly discuss technical and operational aspects of transactions.

  • Identify product gaps or new product opportunities to influence development of key new product service initiatives and more efficient delivery channels.

  • Ensure customer treatment and other regulatory requirements are met and follow Group and Regulatory policy in order to protect and improve the bank's reputation.

  • Support the development of colleagues across Trade Sales, to collaborate and deliver together.

  • Engage with internal collaborators and related product partners to drive alignment in strategy to improve the opportunity for Lloyds Bank, while ensuring adherence to Group strategy and policy to protect the bank.

  • Help maintain our external profile through attendance at industry events and conferences.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven track record of technical understanding of Trade and Working Capital products including trade innovation and digitalisation.

  • Experience at leading, originating and providing solutions to FI clients, and demonstrable success in Trade Sales and Business Development.

  • Sound knowledge of risk profile and regulatory treatment of Trade products and associated risk and portfolio management practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with a consistent track record to empower and drive forward customers and internal & external partners as well as reflect the strong ethics and values of Lloyds Banking Group.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate messages convincingly, succinctly and with clarity to a wide broad range of audiences.

  • Strong financial competence, knowledge of budgets, economic return principles and capital treatment.

  • Sound commercial, technical and risk based decision-making capability, within delegated authority or with referral to appropriate partners.
