Job Description

My client is a unique data analytics company that provide an extensive range of genomic and bioinformatic data analysis services to Pharma, CROs and academia for drug discovery & development and applied research. They have extensive expertise in therapeutic areas such as immunology, inflammation, oncology and infectious diseases.

The Associate Director of Operations will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing and optimising the company's day-to-day operations to ensure maximum efficiency, profitability, customer satisfaction and staff engagement. The ADO will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic initiatives, streamline processes, and drive growth.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency and productivity across operations.
  • Lead and mentor Project Management and Business Support Heads and manage external stakeholders in HR fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimisation of key operational functions, including but not limited to project management, business support, quality assurance and HR including employee engagement.
  • Analyse operational performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Upholding the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.


Applicant requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior operational role with proven track record of success in cross functional management.
  • Strong personnel and performance management skills including HR processes.
  • Strong planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive results.
  • An aspirational self starter and excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.


The ADO can be full-time or 80% with 2-3 days required onsite in Edinburgh.
