About the Role:
JMS Midlands is a part of the JMS Group of companies that employ 45+ staff undertaking civil & structural engineering designs and has been serving the Construction Industry for over 25 years.
We have an opening for an Associate Structural Engineer in the Midlands region. Where, as a critical part of our team, you will Lead an Engineering cost centre(s).
With project costs up to £12m and the use of the latest design software, the role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects. A competitive salary up to £65k will be offered, commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.

Responsibilities:
- Lead an Engineering cost centre(s) for our Midland Region.
- Oversee a team ofstructural engineers, providing support where necessary.
- Use latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
- Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
- Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
- Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications and reports for a wide range of structures and materials
- Implement Company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
- Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
- Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMS's services.
- Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
- Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
