Job Description

We are currently dealing with a leading consultancy in London who are looking to for an Associate Transport Planner to lead their team, predominantly focusing on Development Planning.

The successful individual must have experience with private-sector clients. The team that you’ll be joining specialise in Transport Assessments and Statements, Development Planning, (Active) Travel Plans, Servicing Management Plans, Construction Logistics and Traffic Management Plans. Having experience of preparing, or being closely involved with the above, will be greatly beneficial. You must also have excellent/demonstratable knowledge of the UK planning system, as you will be expected to help secure planning consents for private sector clients.

As well as having excellent report and assessment writing skills, you must also have a strong technical background, with experience in TEMPRO, TRICS, ARCADY/PICADY and LINSIG. It would be greatly beneficial if you had experience in analysing traffic flow, speed and parking (Lambeth Methodology).

Furthermore, you would be expected to be highly conversant of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Manual for Streets (MfS), and other Local Authority Design Guides for new residential developments, and other public/private schemes. Having experience of preparing and giving evidence as an expert witness at Appeal Hearings and Public Enquiries would be beneficial too.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

- Be Degree educated in a relevant subject (Geography, Civil Engineering, Transport Planning)
- Lead the Transport Planning team, and be responsible for technical, managerial and financial matters
- Have experience with Development Planning
- Be responsible for the delivery of Transport Assessments, Statements, Travel Plans, and other technical documents to support development for private and public sector clients
- Help represent the consultancy in meetings with clients, Local Authorities and other regulatory bodies
- Have working knowledge of the DMRB, MfS etc
- Have technical experience of TEMPRO, TRICS, Arcady/Picady and LINSIG
- Be able to analyse Traffic Flow, Speed & Parking (Lambeth Methodology)
- Have excellent written and verbal communication
- Have experience with Business Development, or have your own Client Network
