Role Title: Atlassian Administrator

Reports to: Technical Operations Lead

Role Type: Fixed Term Contract 6 months, possibility to extend

Location: London Paddington (Hybrid 20% office time)


Role Summary

This is an initial fixed term contract for a certified Atlassian administrator to support our business growth, through the adoption and optimisation of our Atlassian estate, with a focus on Jira Service Management (JSM).


Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Tech Ops team, and other JSM adopters across the business, in migrating and maintaining their processes and workflow into JSM.
  • Implementing best practice ITSM flows to support common ITIL and other generic business process activities.
  • Automate and “join up” Jira with other business tools to streamline ITSM processes.
  • Documenting as you go to ensure we maintain accurate records


Person specification

  • You should be at least certified to “Atlassian Certified Associate - ITSM with Jira Service Management Foundations” level, or be able to demonstrate significant practical experience of working at this skill level.
  • Experience in creation and configuration of JSM projects, ideally also with broader Jira Software and Confluence experience, including a keen focus on security.
  • Extensive experience of building and configuring Jira issues, requests, forms, permissions, roles, workflows, automation, security schemas, etc
  • Implementation of best practices with regards to cross-organisation multi-project environments, embedding consistency across statuses and workflows.
  • Implementation of integrations to the Atlassian environment (e.g. DataDog, Statuscast) either using marketplace apps or through e.g. external API calls, webhooks etc.
  • Prior experience of configuring Jira for use in non-software environments, e.g. HR onboarding, offboarding, finance, procurement, etc
  • In depth understanding and experience of building and maintaining schemas and objects in Jira Assets (formerly Insights), and interacting with them via JSM projects
  • Demonstrable experience in critical thinking, complex problem solving, and troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding of ITSM best practises using ITILv4
  • Ability to consult to gather requirements, draw up workflows, advise on best practices, and implement desired configurations
  • It would be an advantage to have experience in writing Jira apps from scratch for internal use.
  • It would be an advantage to have extensive practical experience of working within ITILv4 and ISO27001 environments
