Job summaryThe Authorised Telecommunications Officer (ATO) works to the Business Support C4i Manager and is responsible for administering telecommunications within DSEME Lyneham. The ATO has overall management control of the Lyneham Managed Network Services, which includes the physical routing of Communications and Information Systems (CIS) network services over the Lyneham core network. MOD Lyneham has contractual support for the network infrastructure and the ATO is the primary point of contact for the co-ordination of works.The ATO is a Local Security Officer (LSO) for MODNET and the primary Authorised Demander (AD) for telecommunications systems for DSEME. The ATO is responsible for the management of DSEME�s telecommunication assets and assists with the administration of CIS assets owned by the MOD.The ATO is responsible for maintaining the Lyneham CIS network diagrams and for coordinating planned outages affecting CIS on site including responsibility for ensuring that all network changes are policy compliant.This is an exciting role for someone with a keen interest in networks and communications to be able to grow and develop their skills whilst undertaking training that is provided.This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.Job descriptionTelecommunications Responsibilities. Act as the site Authorised Telecommunications Officer/Management of the Lyneham Managed Network Infrastructure. Primary Point of Contact for all network documentation and change requests.Assist and or Deputisation for the IT Security Officer (ITSO). To assist and deputise for the ITSO during major projects, upgrades and incidents as necessary (the ITSO and ATO work closely together and cover for each other when necessary).CIS Management. Record and administer the distribution of CIS hardware assets managed by the department.Missing Damaged Equipment (All systems incl DEAN and MODNET).Ensure that any missing CIS equipment posing a potential security risk is reported immediately to the appropriate staff including backloading where applicable.Procurement of telecommunication orders. Liaise with the Air Site Co-ordinating Installation Design Authority (SCIDA) to ensure compliance for all network installations on site.
