Pay Range/details: £60,000 per annum - Circa

Contract Type: Permanent

Omega Resource is looking for an Automation Control Engineer, to work with an exciting, technical distributor of automation, controls, and drive solutions. Their key customers are OEM machinery manufacturers, with a focus on the Packaging, Food Processing, Labelling, Material Handling, and Marine industries.

This business is part of a larger, well recognised group, and is the largest supplier of industrial maintenance and distribution networks, operating in over 23 countries and boasting over 8000 employees globally.

The Automation Control Engineer will work alongside another Technical Controls Engineer, working in a fast-paced environment, providing technical support to customers across all automation, control, motion, visualisation, and other key products, whilst having a key input into the roll-out & development of cutting edge and brand-new robotic solutions.

Key Responsibilities – Automation Control Engineer

  • Offer technical support to customers, across email, phone, virtually, and on-site.
  • Assist in customer training sessions and organising/delivering technical seminars.
  • Replicating faults to find solutions and developing test frameworks for fault-finding.
  • Support and develop the system integration partner network.
  • Develop and coordinate activities to improve knowledge of SI partners on key products.
  • Manage the product returns process, including test & repair.
  • Gain knowledge of competitor products and keep up to date with industry developments.

Qualifications & Requirements – Automation Control Engineer

  • Degree Qualified with a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge & commercial experience of configuration and programming of PLCS/HMIs/Servos/Inverters.
  • Knowledge and desire to develop knowledge of Robotics.
  • Motion Control experience.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, and presentation skills.
