About the role
E.on Next is seeking an experienced agile led quality assurance engineer with hands-on experience in testing both manual and automated tests. We are looking for someone to join our expanding team and work on cutting edge web and app projects to support building quality into all areas of the delivery process. Testing is an integral part of our delivery process and you will be a part of the evolution of the practice of continuous testing in our digital experience and products teams. Our QA testers do not just write tests, they actively work with our developers, product owners and other stakeholders to make sure all our code is written with quality in mind from the get go. Together, as a team, we deliver multiple releases daily, fully tested and automated.
We're looking for a quality assurance engineer who can help keep us on our toes and keep us thinking about the quality of everything we deliver. A taste of what you'll be doing;
- Work closely with all members of the SCRUM development team and evangelise quality. Maintaining an effective working relationship with all members of the team is very important to us.
- Be involved in all relevant sprint ceremonies.
- Affluent in written and communication skills.
- Test implementations and revisions of E.ON Next main web application and mobile applications defined by requirements and user stories to ensure the highest level of quality possible.
- Be responsible for the end to end test process from planning to release, producing high quality test artefacts for each part of the test lifecycle.
- Help create test harnesses and scripts and continuously improve test coverage Isolate, reproduce and report defects
- Help verify defect fixes during the application development lifecycle
- Monitor and report on the quality of builds from our CI/CD pipeline
- Embodying the testers knack of having curiosity and an exploratory eye
- Build out our current automation framework written in Cypress
- Integrate automation framework with saucelabs to run on different platforms.
- Integrating automation tests within CI pipeline with Xray on JIRA
- Introduce live monitoring on production using Dynatrace
Above all you should be a self-starter, have strong interpersonal skills, be energetic, disciplined and keen to contribute to a fun, learning environment. Please note this role is a hybrid role of manual and automated. We are predominantly looking for a mid level automation tester that is keen on upskilling with guidance from senior tester.

You will need to have a practical understanding of the fundamental test process as it applies to both waterfall and agile delivery and the creation of test plans, test cases, test exit reports related to these software methodologies. You will need to be familiar with Jira and/or Azure Devops where you will be responsible to manage and organise your workload with the team.
ISTQB certified
4+ years of experience as a QA Tester
2+ years of experience with consumer-facing web applications with millions of customers
Self-starting, self-organising and able to adapt within the product life cycle
Enthusiastic, dependable and responsible.
Bonus:
Experience with the following: React based web and native app testing, TDD, BDD, Cypress,
Saucelabs/Browserstack, xcode, Android studio, Appium, REST API testing, API management, load testing and SQL database
