We are seeking a talented AV Design Engineer to join our team specialising in museum installations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating immersive and engaging experiences through audiovisual technology within the context of museums and cultural institutions. As an AV Design Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team to design, implement, and support cutting-edge AV solutions tailored to the unique needs of each museum project.

The Role Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with museum stakeholders, architects, and exhibit designers to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Design innovative AV systems that enhance visitor engagement and complement the museum's narrative and aesthetic.
  • Produce detailed AV system drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess technical requirements and identify potential challenges.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to source AV equipment and ensure timely delivery and installation.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during the installation, integration, and testing phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AV design for museums and cultural institutions.




Knowledge, skills, and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in AV design and integration, with a focus on museum or exhibition projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SketchUp).
  • Strong knowledge of audiovisual technologies, including projectors, video displays, sound systems, lighting control, and interactive media.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality and robust systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed for site visits and project installations.
