The Role
Here at Penmellyn Vets, we are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to cover maternity to join our team. The role will include carrying out consultations and operations.
We are fortunate that we can be flexible with the role and can offer full time or part time, 12 months fixed term with an opportunity to extend. We can discuss rota, shift patterns at interview as we are keen to offer different options to suit any applicant.
The salary is up to £70,000 depending on experience.

Penmellyn’s practices are in the heart of Cornwall, this outstanding county, and we strive to provide first class care to our team, clients, and pets alike. With our group of 25 full time Veterinary Surgeons and 50 Veterinary Nurses across our sites, we have an exceptionally supportive and forward-thinking team whom we are immensely proud of. Our practice is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostics equipment to include a CT scanner, ultrasound, digital radiography and are about to expand our hospital!
The successful candidate will be a part of our empathetic, highly motivated, supportive staff network and to be happy in a consulting and routine surgery role. We invest in your wellbeing and mental health by providing allocated lunch breaks and time outbreaks throughout the day for you to take time out, to rest and breathe. We try to foster an environment where no-one feels embarrassed to ask a question or ask for help and have regular meetings to discuss cases, to improve and develop. Our rich supply of experienced Vets and an Orthopaedic diplomat is on hand always to help with case discussions and is there to support when required.
