The Role
Hart Veterinary Centre are looking for a Weekend Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their practice.
Working two weekends in three, your duties will mainly be to care for the in-patients that we have in the hospital. You will take over from the night nurse in the morning and hand back to the same night nurse in the evening. We have two vets working over the weekend who will care for in-patients alongside you, carry out consults and operate on urgent cases also. There will always be another nurse on duty with you along with two experienced Receptionists. No overnight work is required as we have a team of night nurses. The salary for this role is up to £30,000 pro-rata depending on experience.
About Us
Caring for pets since 1993, Hart Vets is an IVC practice veterinary practice with a family-based ethos in our modern surgeries in Bicester and Waddesdon.
Hart Vets is dedicated to providing quality health care with compassion. We like our patients to see the same vet whenever possible and we care for your pets the same way we would want our own pets to be cared for.
We have on-site parking available for clients at both our Bicester Veterinary Hospital and our Waddesdon surgery, with disabled access to our waiting rooms and consulting areas. Our surgeries are air-conditioned, and we have separate dog and cat areas so that our patient environment remains calm. Our surgeries have been designed to provide the highest quality of care using the latest technology for diagnosis and treatment.
Unlike most veterinary practices, we have a nurse awake caring for our patients at our Bicester Veterinary Hospital throughout the night, as well as having a vet on call. Our dedicated night nurses ensure that our patients receive the same high standard of care at night as they do during the day, every day of the year. Most of our clients live locally in the Bicester – Aylesbury area, but many of our clients come from nearby towns and villages including Oxford, Kidlington, Thame, Brackley, Banbury, Buckingham, Winslow and Milton Keynes.
Operating is performed daily during the week in our very well-equipped RCVS Small Animal Hospital as are our nurse consultations. DR Digital x-ray, Idexx diagnostic machines, dental suite and modern anaesthetic monitoring equipment combined with our client-based-ethos makes our Bicester surgery a very satisfying and rewarding place in which to work.
We have 10 FTE vets working between our two surgeries. They cover a wide range of experience from those who have been qualified for 30 years to new graduates. Similarly, our 14 FTE nurses have a range of experience and various qualifications and interests. To support our awesome nursing team, we have three Animal Nursing Assistants.
We encourage further study including certificates in your chosen discipline and endeavour to support the successful candidate as much as we can in achieving that goal. As a training practice, ideally, you will want to pass on the benefit of their knowledge and experience to others.
We take the well-being of our team very seriously with Well-Being Champions available to ensure that we listen to our team at every level.
Applicant Requirements
The successful candidate will be a dynamic veterinary nurse who wants to make a difference to the clients and pets for whom they care. You will be someone ready to go that extra mile in customer care in an environment where you can really get to know your clients. We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic, motivated individual who will slot into our team from day one. Someone who strives for excellence and wants to contribute to the very fabric of the practice and sees their long-term future with Hart Vets.
Whatever your skills, whatever your goals, if you like what you have read here, we will relish the opportunity to discuss this position with you.
