The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team. We are open to discussing all hours full or part time. Clinical experience is necessary as while we have a supportive clinical team there are busy periods when being able to work independently is a requirement. We understand that everyone’s situation is different, therefore we’re open to having conversations with candidates regarding their expected salary.

Purton can provide a generous relocation package of up to £5000. They can also provide some lovely temporary accommodation in the form of a 2-bed cottage that’s near the practice!

The role promotes a healthy work life balance. Shifts will be over a 4 day week, working 08:30 – 19:30 with 1 in 4 Saturdays (08:30 – 16:30). No out of hours or on call required.
You’ll be joining a practice that has your best interests in mind, they take staff welling extremely seriously! You’ll have access to a dedicated mental health first aider as well as an IVC welfare champion. There’s always someone around to talk to!
They encourage clinical staff to develop their skills by funding certificates and further study.
About Us
The practice is based in a lovely village that has a fabulous range of pubs, restaurants, leisure facilities and walking trails. Cotswold Water Park is just under 20 minutes from the practice!
All our vets and nurses have completed the ‘Fear Free’ training scheme.
We’ve got a brilliant team of 3 vets, 6 qualified nurses, 1 animal care assistant and reception team. The team are a close bunch! They normally meet up outside of work for meals, dog walks, coffees and pub nights.
We regularly have specialists’ visitations to the practice. They set up clinics within the site, these are normally in Ophthalmology and Orthopaedics.
We are a gold certificate cat friendly clinic, and we consider the emotional wellbeing of our patients as important as their physical health. We have a range of good quality equipment including patient warming systems, infusion pumps, capnography, blood pressure, tonometry, dental x-ray, doppler ultrasound, flexible gastroscope, bronchoscope, rigid endoscopes, laparoscopy, and in-house blood testing.
Applicant Requirements
An experienced, registered veterinary surgeon is required. We are looking for a Vet with experience in small animal practice, with enthusiasm and good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
