Senior Systems Safety Engineer

£56.29 per hour
This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain significant understanding of Typhoon Avionics, working with a broad network of Systems Engineers, across the Typhoon engineering lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Safety Engineer, you will deliver system safety engineering and support the Section Leader in addressing all aspects of Avionics System Safety. You will assess Avionics updates and changes to enable Certification in line with Project requirements.
• Preparing, issuing and maintaining Avionics System Safety documentation for both development and production releases through the development
• Reviewing design changes and associated hazard analysis updates to determine impact on the Avionics System Safety Assessment
• Determining non-compliant areas of the design and developing appropriate mitigating arguments, where necessary working with the aircraft operators and National Customer Representatives to determine limitations or restrictions of use
• Developing and maintaining failure mode architecture models for use by other systems reliant on the Avionic System for mitigation of their hazards
• Monitoring in-service safety reports and recommending investigative / remedial activities.
Skills and Experience:
• Knowledge of system safety analysis techniques (including Analysis Tool e.g. Fault Tree+) would be preferable.
• Experience of working with equipment ICD's and definition of Logical signal level information would be advantageous (Training will be provided if necessary)
• Experience of Design Tools / methodology (e.g. Statemate, Artisan, Rhapsody, UML & Doors) would be advantageous.
• Experience of JIRA Agile project management tool would be advantageous
