The Role:

As a Backend Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and designing the backend services, ensuring the responsiveness of services, and working alongside UI engineers for designing web features, among other duties. In this role, you will be required to see out a project from conception to final product, utilising your good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
• end-to-end systems optimised for speed and scale.
• primarily in Java.
• and implement highly performant REST APIs.
• with business and product owners to understand the business requirements to design the systems.
• existing systems to modern platforms.
• with other back end and front-end engineers to create reliable services.
• the architecture solutions and PRs by peers.
• across time zones via Slack, GitHub comments, documents.
• to client request and proactively take ownership of tasks.

Your Profile

Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

• knowledge of Java8+, Couchbase/postgres and Kafka.
• understanding of microservices, REST APIs, spring boot and Vertx frameworks.
• of CICD tools including github, Jenkins and openshift platforms/aws.
• of building reusable components and follow the design patterns.
• Experience translating designs and wireframes into high quality code.
• experience with optimising components for maximum performance.
• organisational skills and attention to detail.
• to contribute individually and experience within a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Good to have:

Familiarity with front-end technology like React will be a plus.
