Job summary The successful candidate will have clinical involvement and be jointly responsible for the management of a caseload of clients with complex needs, acting as a specialist in this field.You will work as a specialist practitioner dealing with patients presenting and living with HIV and Hepatitis B, providing highly specialist care, treatment, advice, information, education and counselling, to patients, families, partners & carers in accordance with UHB, British HIV Association [BHIVA], British Association of Sexual Health & HIV [BASHH] and other speciality guidelines.You will contribute and work within a large, dedicated, supportive MDT consisting of Nurses, Doctors, Health Advisers, Pharmacists, therapies, social & peer support and wider agencies providing holistic wellbeing for our cohort.You will complete a Health Assessment course and a local competency programme prior to practitioner led reviews on patients with consultant oversight. You will be motivated to consider non-medical prescriber training in future.This role may also focus on the transition of younger people living with HIV currently attending the regional paediatric HIV service, into the adult HIV service. A paediatric nursing qualification is not essential.We offer in person & telephone reviews to our patients and continued support in between appointments for a wide range of complex issues. We support students within the department. There is future scope to offer outreach / community services in this role. Job description Job responsibilities *Please Note : For a detailed job description for this vacancy, please see attached Job Description* Person Specification Qualifications Essential *Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration *Evidence of post registration CPD / post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to FHEQ Level 6 Experience Essential *Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC *Significant post registration experience, with evidence of passion/ enthusiasm and knowledge for the associated area of specialist practice *Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence *Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality *Experience and enthusiasm for teaching/assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting *Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment *Demonstrate understanding / experience / willingness to be a practice-based supervisor / assessor as detailed in the NMC Desirable *Experience in service development
