This is an exciting and well supported opportunity for an enthusiastic CBT or CAT therapist to join our friendly Psychology team in Crewe. You will be joining a small psychology team consisting of a Principal Clinical Psychologist, a Highly Specialist clinical psychologist, a CBT therapist and an Assistant psychologist. We also routinely offer trainee Clinical psychologist placements and/or other trainee therapy placement.

We are a values' driven team and we support collaborative, person centred and trauma informed practices in all our interactions with service users and colleagues

We are very keen to grow our Psychology team in order to meet the Community Transformation agenda ambitions and to make psychological interventions widely available for a greater majority of the service users under the care of the CMHT.

We welcome applications from people on their way to therapy accreditation, in either CBT or CAT, who are passionate to work with people experiencing severe or more complex mentalhealth difficulties.

A commitment to working in a Trauma Informed manner is essential and a desire to support communities is important.

Main duties of the job

To provide a specialist psychological therapy service to clients with complex mental health problems under the care of Ageless CMHT in Crewe. To provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions as well as providing consultation and advice on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers. To support trainees and qualified practitioners' supervision as agreed. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures. To regularly engage with clinical supervision and CPD activities, according to professional registration requirements

Qualifications

Essential

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, counselling or health psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996)
  • HCPC Registered (Band 8a)
  • BABCP/UKCP or other relevant registration professional body (Band 8a)
  • Additional Psychotherapy qualification/ training relevant to working with complex presentations in one or more psychological therapies e.g CBT, Compassion focused Therapy, Brief interpersonal therapy, Dynamic Interpersonal therapy
  • Supervision training (Band 8a)


Desirable

  • Core NHS/Social Services professional training


Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

  • Skills in conducting complex psychological assessment and intervention frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration
  • Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex and /or clinically sensitive information to clients and professional colleagues within and outside the NHS
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Skills in providing Consultation to other professionals and non-professional groups (Band 8a)
