Job DescriptionBehaviour Support AssistantSouthportFull-TimeASAP£450-£500 Weekly Pay (PAYE – No Umbrella Company)New Directions Liverpool are looking for a behaviour support assistant for a Pupil Referral Unit based in Southport for a Long-term role. If successful, you will be required to support children who suffer with Social, emotional mental health issues. This role will be to start ASAP subject to clearance.Responsibilities of the role included but are not limited to: Have excellent communication skills.Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.Be encouraging and supportive.Have a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children development.Ensure the safety and well-being of the student. Although the role is based around education support, due to the children’s personal needs and behaviours they require consistent mentoring, motivating and advising, as well as some counselling, so their well-being can remain stable meaning they can achieve much more in their education and work towards an more independent future.Behaviours displayed by the children can be challenging so applicants must be prepared to practice De-escalation and calming techniques, as well maintaining an empathetic approach and understanding behaviours stems from other problems. candidates from care, sports, psychology, criminology, sociology and youth work backgrounds are encouraged to apply.Job Specification Have experience working with children, or adults, with additional needsHold a L2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.Able to support children of all abilities.Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
